GIANT ROBOT; DAVID CHOE & JAMES JEAN EXHIBITION

If you are in L.A you have to check out the Giant Robot Biennial going on now. I love David Choe's candy colored watercolor robots ( I still cant figure out how he gets watercolor to look like that!) and James Jean's beautifully intense oil paintings.

DreamScape at the LA Mart

DreamScape
"A conceptual design exhibition that explores the symbolic references of our personal spaces through the interplay of fine art and high design."

Last night Tarina, Alfonso and I had the pleasure of checking out DreamScape at the LA Mart. This amazing art installation interpreted the spaces where we live through the eyes of artists and interior designers. They worked together to create room installations using original pieces from the artists and furnishings from the LA Mart. One of our favorite artists and friends here at TSF Mattia Biagi had an installation called old shoes.

He paired with Woodson and Rummerfield's House of Design for a truly unique experience with tar covered shoes hanging out of the walls and sparkling chairs and couches. All of the furniture was accents by pieces from Mattia's famous Black Tar collections.

Food for the event was prepared by Top Chefs Ilan Hall and Marcel Vigneron. Ilan's new restaurant The Gorbal's headlines with some interested hors d'oeuvres including his signature bacon wrapped matzoh balls. I guess well have to see what else he has up his sleeve when his restaurant opens later in the month but Tarina and I were pretty impressed! See the Top Chefs at work in the picture below.



One of my favorite rooms was the one with the mermaid. I forgot to check who the artist was because I was too busy asking the mermaid about her outfit and the amazing sparkling chaise she was laying on.

Happy Birthday Kelly Osbourne!!!

Last night Tarina and I had the pleasure of celebrating the 25th birthday of one of our favorite "sparkling stars" Kelly Osbourne. The birthday girl recieved some special goodies from Tarina including bow headbands, sparkling heart earrings and some of her favorite bows. MORE CUTENESS from the HK 35th Event.....

Sweet and sparkly Amy over at SHRINKLE posted lots more cute pix from this event. I couldn't decide which was more fun to look at; the art on the walls or the carefully crafted costumes worn by many of the partygoers as they twirled through the crowd.... Amy also gave me a custom eyeshadow palette that she created which I love! Read more!

Halloween at the Sparkle Factory

Halloween is coming up soon! It is quite an exciting holiday around TSF, and we are all contemplating our costumes.
In fact, it is such a fun holiday around here that we are holding our annual Sparkle Factory activities at the TT Melrose store this year!
Team Sparkle will be at the Boutique on Thursday night between 5 to 9 for some Halloween Festivities. Come join us for some costumes, treats, and sparkling refreshments.
In celebration of the Holiday both TT Melrose and TT Soho will be having a special shopping event on Thursday night with a 30% discount. And if you come in to the store in a costume, like we will be, you will receive a special gift with purchase.
